The ‘Workbook for workplace physical activity’ offers information and tools for employer-supported exercise and other measures to encourage physical activity. The Finnish-language workbook includes predesigned planning templates and models and several good practical examples on how to increase physical activity in everyday life. The digital workbook also provides information about the importance of physical activity from the perspectives of both employers and employees, complete with four concrete steps to start planning a workplace exercise programme.
“We developed the workbook to be as approachable as possible. I’m sure that the practical examples collected from Finnish workplaces during the Moving to Business project will be useful to others too. The workbook also provides guidance for the systematic development of workplace physical activity, which will probably result in positive effects on the health and functional capacity of employees,” Project Manager Ahti Romo summarises.
The digital workbook for workplace physical activity is especially intended for SME management, HR personnel and those responsible for wellbeing at work, but it is also available for use by anyone interested in workplace physical activity.
The digital workbook for workplace physical activity was produced by the Finnish Sports Confederation (Valo). Expert parties include the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, the Fit for Life programme and the Päijät-Häme, Häme and South Savo Sports Federations.
